“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.”
Isaiah 40:28-29 NKJV
Hiking is always fun and interesting, especially in the area we live in. It’s absolutely beautiful year round but the spring and fall seem to always outdo themselves. Most of the hikes in this area center around the Ozark Mountains and the Buffalo River. Which includes many uphill hikes and bluff lines with spectacular views. The climb up the mountain is always strenuous, no matter how in shape I think I am, I’m always glad when we reach the top. There are times the flesh in me wants to quit and just sit down, or just turn around and go back. But if I did that I would miss the best part of the trip, the amazing view of God’s creation. Part of me thinks, why am I even doing this, is this even worth it. I know many times I have had that same thought in my spiritual life and the work I do for the Lord. We all asked it from time to time, am I doing any good, is this worth it. The answer is always the same, just like with the hike, I never regret getting to the destination. It makes all the up hill battle worth it when I reach the top and see how spectacular the view is. It is all worth it when you see a friend accept Jesus as their Savior. It makes it all worth it when you get to be a part of a life that is changed. So the climb may take a lot out of you, it may be strenuous, it may even make you feel like quitting, but know that it is worth it. Keep going don’t give up, keep climbing!
