“He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.”
Psalms 107:20 NKJV
Recovery is a process it doesn’t happen immediately. When you are in the recovery room following surgery, you are there until you have accomplished certain goals set for you. If you take physical therapy after an accident or injury, your recovery process takes time and has goals that you must meet before you are released. If you have come through a divorce, you have a time of recovery from the hurt. Every recovery that we face has a process to it, whether its physical, emotional or spiritual. We often want to skip the recovery room and go directly back to life. But we are not ready for that, our muscles are too weak, our scars have not healed, our mind has not gotten past the trauma. We have to learn to trust God through the process. Scriptures tells us the process: He sent His word, then He healed them, then He delivered them from their destruction. If we jump back in to life too quick before being healed emotionally, physically or spiritually, before meeting the goals God has for us, we will be right back in what tried to destroy us in the first place. But if we will allow God to deliver us to complete the recovery process, He will deliver us from those things that have tried to destroy us. Don’t miss the process, it all starts with His word!
