Read to Pass the Test

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

We always teach our kids to make sure they read and understand the questions that are being ask on a test before they read through an entire passage of information. This causes the student to read for information and to look for certain words or phrase that may help them answer the questions more accurately and quickly. This is a good course of action for believers, to read the Word of God in order to answer life’s questions which are being thrown at them. There are times that we are overwhelmed when trying to read the Word of the Lord. Or even overwhelmed by the questions that life has placed before us. As we read the scriptures God will use the Holy Spirit to show us the answers, to give us comfort, to bring peace into our situations, and to bring life back into our dead situations. We often forget the power of the Word of God, we forget that it answers the tough questions, it is sharper than any two edged sword. It gives direction, brings clarity to situations and reveals our heart. God will use his word to help us pass the tests of life, the more we rely on the Word the better test takers we become, the more accurate and purposeful our lives become. The Word of the Lord is still alive and relevant in hearts and lives today. It still breaks the yoke of bondage and melts the coldest of hearts. So as you face the difficult test before you in life, read for information, allow the Holy Spirit to use the scriptures to speak to you. The only way to become a good test taker is to learn to turn to the one who wrote the book. The one who knows the answers before you even see the test. He is not surprised by your test, nor is he afraid you will fail the test, he has trusted you with the test, be faithful to his word.
