Off Track

“looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2 NKJV

When something is off it’s track we know immediately, a bicycle chain that comes off the track, a train that is off it’s track, or even a garage door that comes off it’s track. We know as soon as it happens. Why? Because it no longer functions correctly, it stops working. It can even cause damage because it is off track. Sound familiar? But why is it when we are off track, we are very slow to admit it, we may recognize it, but we are slow to acknowledge the fact. We often do damage to those around us because we are off track. Our eyes are no longer set on Jesus, they are focused on what we want to focus on and we are doing what we want to do. The damage we do and the inability to function as we need to is usually very apparent to everyone but us. It’s hard to admit we need help, but just like the bicycle, the train, and even the garage door, we can’t do this alone, we can’t fix ourself. We need someone to help us get back on track, sometimes that’s as simple as turning to Jesus and other times we need other believers to help us get back on track. Take the time to get back on track and you will be amazed at how much better you function when your mind is set on Jesus.
