Hidden in the Crevices

“Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.” The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’ for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.” The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.”

John 4:16-19 NKJV

We like to think that we have hidden things really well. That we have covered them up, and disguised them well. But it’s those things, the things hidden in the crevices of our heart, in the deep parts of our soul, that Jesus wants to deal with. He wants you to release all of those failed relationships, all the lost opportunities, all the hurtful words spoken, all the life defining moments. Those things we have hidden deep down and refused to deal with. Or sometimes fooling ourselves to think that we have dealt with them just because we brushed them under the rug and have forgotten about them. Those things that define us, the things that make us react like we do, the things that make us keep repeating the same cycle over and over in our life. Those are the things he wants to deal with. He wants to help you dig them out one at a time, truly deal with them, with the truth of His word, allow Him to heal your heart and soul, and remove that from the crevice of your soul. He doesn’t want to sweep it under the carpet, He wants to deal with it, give you victory and watch you be an overcomer in your life. So much so that you are able to help others overcome what you have. So today, let Him dig deep in the crevices and deal with those things that you keep pushing aside. Learn to give them to Him, the author and finisher of our faith!
