Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalms 46:10 NKJV
I remember New Years Eve 1999, you know the year that everything was going to shut down at midnight. I also remember September 11, 2001 when the planes hit the Towers, sending the United States into panic. Oh and then there was December 21, 2012 the year the Mayan Calendar showed as the end of time. All of these events were destined to be the end of the world as we know it. But then March of 2020 hit and the world as we know it did end, everything changed, neighbors became enemies, people hid in fear, others duked it out over toilet paper, rioting and looting became a norm in some cities, and all the while every one seemed to have lost their minds. But when the dust began to settle we each had to determine how do we handle this? Again the Word of the Lord speaks loud and clear, “Be still, and know that I am God.” We cannot change or make this go away. But we can have faith and trust in God to be who He says he is. He is still savior, deliverer, healer, solid rock, cornerstone, Emmanuel, the Bright and Morning Star, the Rose of Sharon, my very present help in the time of need. He is still the Great I Am! He has not changed, our circumstances may have, but he is still the same. You have to learn to have faith and trust again, you will be surrounded by people who do not have faith and who will speak doom and gloom, but as a follower of Christ, a Christian, we must walk by faith. We cannot freak out with the world!
