Dirty Laundry

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”” John 8:32 NKJV

The song written in the 80’s by Don Henley called “I Love Dirty Laundry” was based off of the view of news reporters who are always trying to dig up lies about someone. He talks about how he makes his living off everyone’s dirty little secrets. This song is probably more true today than it was when it was written. Most of us know the chorus of the song, it says, “Kick ‘em when they’re up, Kick em’ when they’re down, Kick em’ all around.” This is pretty accurate to our world today, however, many have now jumped on the band wagon and are quick to judge and put their opinion out there for everyone to know. But Jesus, He never kicks us when we are up, down or any where else. He sees our “dirty laundry” as an opportunity for His forgiveness. He knows that once we encounter the truth, we will be set free. We will no longer hang on to our dirty laundry or anyone else’s. We will be set free by truth. Truth is not something that this world is interested in, they only want the lies, and coverups. But Jesus wants to bring truth, the only thing he wants to expose is the plans of the enemy. So maybe we need to be more interested in truth and being set free than we are in seeing everyone’s dirty laundry. Let Jesus reveal truth to you, so that you can show others truth.
