Bad Attitude

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

John 14:27 NKJV

Ever met that person that no matter what was going on, in their eyes every situation is all doom and gloom. You know the one that cannot celebrate any victory, the one that never finds the silver lining. They can’t seem to find joy in life or in any situation. It’s sad in a sense that their mind has been so prone to finding the negative and the bad that they miss the really great things in life. They miss the laughter, the cheering, the smile, the pure joy of living. I understand sometimes bad things happen that tend to shape people, but I have also watched really horrible things happen to people and they still find a way to turn it into something good. Attitude is developed by our perspective, if we change our perspective then we change our attitude. If you always see the glass as half empty then life is always going to look that way to you. But what if the glass is actually half full, what if you have allowed your distorted perspective to dictate to you that life is not full of joy, then you my friend have missed one of the greatest gifts in life, joy. You have missed the one ingredient that Jesus Himself tells us that He will personally give us, joy. Not our joy but His joy. So when we see the world we will have a joy within us that says, “have faith, it’s all gonna work out.” So maybe it’s not everyone else who is the problem, maybe just maybe it’s your attitude. Maybe it’s the fact that you have looked at the world with a bad attitude. Is it time to allow Jesus to change that attitude? Is it time to truly receive His joy. That joy that is unspeakable, that we can’t explain or even understand. Today receive His joy, let it flow through you and even out of you into other people.
